Surprisingly, color discovery allows us to uncover new aspects of ourselves that we may not have been aware of previously. When we connect this self-discovery to personal styling, it can assist in aligning your wardrobe with your preferences and how you wish to be perceived by others. I will also provide you with the necessary tools to determine which tones complement your unique skin tone, enabling your personal style to radiate with the most perfect and flattering colors!
This exercise will help you reconnect with colors on a deeper level. Building on our previous discussion, colors have the power to evoke emotions and bring back vivid memories. Therefore, it's important to approach this discovery process with mindfulness, as exploring different colors may unearth long-forgotten feelings and experiences.Discover what your favorite color tells about you :
Step 1: Write down the name of your favorite color. If you like many colors, do write all of them and then choose your favorite ones from the list
Step 2 : Discover the precise tone. For example, try to discover the exact tone of blue that you like (Navy blue, Royal blue, Ocean blue…). To discover the exact tone, you can get help from a picture, a piece of textile, a painting…. Anything that allows you to connect to emotionally to this color.
Step 3: Once you have found the exact color, start understanding what it means for you:
Personal Meaning: Memories of an event that is linked to this color
Cultural Signification: Meaning in your cultural background
Psychologic signification: the impact of the color on your feelings and behavior
Step 4: Ask yourself where you would like to use your favorite color? In your office? Where and When you would like to wear your favorite color? Think about special moments and occasions.
Which color is your least favorite one?
As you have done for your favorite color, do the same for your least favorite one. This might be more difficult as it triggers in us some emotions, memories we usually bury and don’t want to see. However, it is very healing to allow the feelings and emotions linked to arise. As you did for the favorite color, follow the same steps:

Step 2: Find the precise tone
Step 3: Once you have found the precise tone, ask yourself what it means for you
We all have a least favorite color that we rarely stop to ponder the reason behind. It's interesting how certain colors can evoke different emotions and preferences in each of us. For example my least favorite color was red. For me, Red met something aggressive, pushy brining a real fighting energy and made me very uncomfortable. If I remember well, it came from a childhood memory at school. With time and understanding, I made peace with this color. I also have discovered that funny enough, it is one of the color that suits my color skin the best.
It takes time to understand what is behind the dislike of color. Do not worry if you do not have the answer now; it might happen at one point, usually when unexpected. It might come with some emotional relief as well, bringing a sense of liberation and self-discovery.
